On April 28, 2026, the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) of Indonesia convened a special meeting in Jakarta with 18 Chinese halal certification bodies. Shanghai Global Halal Certification Service (SGH) was among the invited institutions.

BPJPH emphasized the upcoming mandatory halal certification policy effective October 2026, which will enforce end-to-end oversight from production and packaging to distribution. SGH engaged in discussions on mutual recognition of halal standards, certification efficiency, and quality assurance, contributing to a mutually beneficial global halal industry.
